About our telehealth services

A virtual visit allows you to be seen by an urgent care provider at your home, at the office or wherever life takes you. They are able to assess you in real-time over video conference by phone, tablet or desktop computer.

Virtual visits are available Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 7:00pm and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00am to 6:00pm.

Check in online and our trained medical professionals will assess your need to determine if you can be seen virtually or if an in-person follow up visit is required. All you need is a mobile device or computer — we’ll take care of the rest.

You can expect the following steps during your telehealth appointment:

  • Check in online by selecting “Virtual Visit” from the navigation bar.
  • Our team will confirm and send you a link to access your telehealth visit when it’s your turn.
  • Be sure your mobile device or computer has a good audio and video connection and the Google Chrome browser which is required to access your virtual visit.

Depending on your healthcare needs, we’ll determine if you can proceed with a telehealth visit or if you should be seen in person at one of our clinics.

Cost for virtual visits

If you’re paying with insurance, the cost of a virtual visit will depend on your individual plan. We also offer self-pay pricing for $75.

Checking in for a virtual visit

While we can treat many minor conditions with telehealth visits, there are times when your specialist may need to perform a more thorough examination, obtain a test or take an X-ray in order to diagnose your condition and determine the correct treatment. In that case, your virtual visit expert will simply transfer your visit to one of our clinics, where we will be waiting for you to arrive.

Please note that if you are transferred, you will only be billed for a single visit. Additional testing or other treatment at our facility, if necessary, may be added to the final cost of your visit.

If you have questions about insurance or billing, please reach out to your nearest MD Now® location

Prepare for your telehealth appointment

Follow the steps below to make sure your visit goes as smoothly as possible:

  • Internet browser: It’s important that you download Google Chrome browser if you do not already have it installed.
  • Mobile device: We also highly recommend that you prepare your mobile device or computer and ensure the following items are ready before you begin. Be sure you have adequate battery life and close any unnecessary programs on your device to ensure reliable connectivity. Double-check that your connection is strong, whether it's an internet or mobile service signal.
  • Set up for quality sound: Find a quiet space where you are unlikely to be interrupted during your visit. We recommend using earbuds with a microphone or a headset to make it easier for you and your provider to communicate clearly.
  • Set up good lighting: Be sure you have good lighting — use overhead lights and block lights from windows, which can cause glare. If you choose to use a mobile device, position your camera correctly by placing it at eye level so your head and shoulders are fully visible to your healthcare specialist.
  • Dress appropriately: If you have something on your body to show your telehealth specialist, be sure to dress in a way that you can show them on camera. For example, if your concern is with your arm, wear short sleeves for easy access.
  • Decide if you will need assistance: If you need to show hard-to-reach areas (such as a sore throat), it’s encouraged to have someone assist you by holding a flashlight or directing the camera so your expert can do a thorough examination.
